Resume
Staff Software Engineer working across frontend platforms, design systems, and AI-assisted engineering.
Summary
I build the shared frontend foundations that help product teams deliver consistent experiences at scale. At Acquia, that work spans platform architecture, design systems, developer tooling, and company-wide engineering standards.
Current focus
- GELGlobal Experience LanguageGEL gives Acquia a shared token and component foundation across Angular and React. Product teams consume framework-specific packages in their code, while shared standards and governance support a consistent experience across products.
- jtmac.devMy personal websiteMy personal site brings my work, writing, and interests into a Mass Effect-inspired visual system. It treats visual design, usability, and accessibility as complementary goals, with agent-facing interfaces built from the same content.
Experience
Staff Software Engineer
Dec 2018 – Present
Promoted from Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer to Staff Software Engineer. I provide technical leadership across frontend architecture, design systems, and developer-platform work for Acquia’s Cloud Platform DXP.
- Authored Acquia’s first company-wide frontend platform strategy, evaluating monorepo, polyrepo, and hybrid models before building consensus around a multi-monorepo direction.
- Led development of the Acquia Design System, a shared component and convention layer adopted across eight products and internal tools.
- Planned the Multi-Experience Operations frontend across five teams, then refactored Cloud Platform around the domain model the program needed.
- Recommended rebuilding Acquia Pipelines inside Cloud Platform, then delivered the Angular 4 to 14 migration, critical CVE remediation, and updated customer experience.
- Built Cloud Platform’s Acquia ID authentication service to run beside the legacy system, giving the Okta-based SSO migration a reversible cutover path.
